Tucked deep into the woods, resides a small , unassuming family. Who are they? Creatures of Peace. They do kind things for other woodland creatures and people who live in these forests, but you would never know they exist because they don't like to draw attention to themselves. Another thing they love is rest and slumber, so it's natural that these gatherers would take their carrots and hibernate for the colder months ahead. No, they are not rabbits. They don't have floppy ears. Just cute, curly wisps of hair that somehow levitate above their heads. Perhaps they communicate with them.

This is part of an ongoing series that has been in the works since around 2013-2014. While my style has drastically changed since then, this is the one series I LOVE returning to and playing with more of a fantasy approach. I don't create many Creatures of Peace paintings anymore, but they usually have a made up story built in, and there's usually a lot of symbolism from what life has been teaching me. For the past couple of years, the importance of rest has really resonated with me. I wanted to capture that in a celebratory form by making these creatures hibernate. Hope you like it!
