Cascading Waters was inspired by a high-speed boat ride in the fjords of Norway. It was a cold, rainy day. To some, that may not be ideal, but I felt like the moody skies added to the grandeur of the unforgiving terrain. I was completely in awe of the massive fjords, the dark waters, and the absence of people. Everything seemed so fresh, as it was meant to be. While it was a blessing to see this place, I know in my heart I will probably never be back. Expressing my appreciation for this place on canvas was a nice way to preserve this fragment of time while inviting others in. :)
Have you ever sought out a place to experience the culture and beauty while fulfilling some element of curiosity within... only to be met with more surprise than you could've imagined? Have you ever experienced those moments of awe and wanted to remember that little fragment of time forever? Chasing Wonder is a collection composed of precious slivers of time when feelings of ambition ran high, but reality had a way of catching me by surprise in the most endearing ways. Even freezing atop mountains in the pouring rain, there is something to be appreciated about this lovely world. As an artist, I want to capture those beautiful places and share them with you.
