Creature of Reflection - Original Acrylic Painting
In 2012, my Creatures of Peace series began with this same creature sleeping in a forest. Fast forward to 2020, and everything seems to be moving so fast, yet time also feels like it's standing still. This has been a strange year, but a year of reflection nonetheless. I thought it would be fitting to place this creature by a river, to sleep out in the open. So vulnerable, yet contemplative. It's okay to be vulnerable. It's okay to reflect on life. It's okay for things not to be okay, or for things to not make sense in the moment. It's okay to experience moments of peace when everything else feels chaotic.
